Red's Press publishes literary fiction that doesn't flinch. Books for people who read on the bus, at the bar, in the bathtub or wherever the world gets loud and you need a reason to go quiet.
Red's Press launched in 2025. Our catalog is being built right now, one manuscript at a time. We're looking for the stories that need to be heard.
Submit a ManuscriptA magazine for the outcast. Culture, fiction, criticism, and the kind of essays that change how you see a block you've walked a thousand times. The first issue is in the works.
Pitch an Article
red@writingsfromred.comSend us a short pitch, what it's about, why it matters, and a sample of your writing if you have one.
Red's Press started in 2025 out of a studio apartment in Montreal with a stack of manuscripts, and the conviction that the best stories aren't the ones that win prizes, they're the ones that your mind cannot escape from.
We are an independent literary fiction press. That means we answer to our authors and our readers, full stop. No earnings calls. No algorithm. Just books that we believe in, made by people who stayed up too late writing them.
Our catalog is deliberately small. We'd rather publish six books a year that matter than sixty that don't. We work closely with each writer because a good book is a conversation, not a transaction.
We're always reading. We don't use a submission portal, send us an email. It goes to a human. We will read it.
Submissions
red@writingsfromred.comRed's Press is a small, scrappy, independent operation and we're always interested in meeting people who care about good writing. Whether you want to help shape what we publish or how we tell the world about it, we'd love to hear from you.
We're especially interested in writers, editors, graphic designers, and journalists, but honestly if you're smart and you care about literature and culture, just say hello. The press grows with the people in it.
